Angkor Wat is the name of the main, largest wat (wat meaning temple). But there are something like 200 temples in the whole temple complex, which comprises about 100 square kilomters. The greatest thing is, that since it's such a vast area, and as yet attracts relatively few tourists, you can be alone in these places. And unlike most ruins, you can play on them! You are free to get yourself crushed under rubble! You can pretend you're Indiana Jones, discovering these mysterious ruins amist the shroud of the jungle! I'm getting kind of carried away here--it was just really intense to be in this massive ancient temple by ourselves, as the sun was rising, and rays of misty light were filtering in between the corridors and illuminating the intricate patterns and carvings on the walls.
